As the Chief Executive Officer of the Bridlepath Properties Group, Shafiq Punjani leads an integrated group of companies engaged in real estate development, management, financing, and investment, focusing on commercial and residential properties in Southern Ontario. The Group is part of the broader Punjani Family’s global network of business interests spanning the United States, United Kingdom, Middle East, and East Africa, with primary involvement in real estate, healthcare, and the automotive industry. Over the past four decades, Shafiq has managed many of the Group’s businesses worldwide, after graduating with a Master’s degree in Finance from the London School of Economics.
Shafiq is a Board Member of the Habib University Foundation Canada, a charity supporting Pakistan’s first non-profit liberal arts and sciences university and is dedicated to supporting the University's goal of providing world-class higher education to the most talented students, irrespective of their socio-economic background.
Deeply engaged in the Punjani Family’s philanthropic initiatives, he also serves as Trustee of the Punjani Charitable Trust in the United Kingdom (with a branch in Tanzania) and Director of the Punjani Charitable Foundation in Canada. His commitment to community development extends through his service as Board Member and Chair of the Investment Committee at the Scarborough Health Network Foundation, overseeing an investment portfolio exceeding $100 million; as Treasurer and Board Member of the Duke Heights Business Improvement Area (BIA) in Toronto, managing an annual budget of over $3.5 million; and as Vice-Chair of the Capital Projects and Development Committee at the Islamic Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamaat of Toronto, leading a $200 million community development project.
